At the heart of AI excitement is the dream of automation. Taking those annoying repetitive tasks off our plates. I recently met with a potential client who operates a successful e-commerce business. They want to learn how AI can streamline their operations and assist their customers and whole-sale partners.
As I listened, I knew what they really need is workflow automation! (with a sprinkling of AI on top). Workflow automation breaks processes into steps. Sounds simple enough, but describing your complex process to a computer in a way it can understand is anything but. My favorite illustration of this challenge: a dad asking his kids to write instructions for making a pb&j. Classic.
n8n is a powerful workflow automation tool. It’s my recommendation. It has powerful core capabilities, it has a large community, and importantly, it’s open source and can be self-hosted. That gives me the confidence that I will never lose control of the automations I build.
